Arts & Crafts garden - the terrace
Colour, form and textureDesigned by Alison Wear and Miranda Melville
The style of this garden was dictated by the house which is a listed Arts and Crafts building. The main focus is the central axis that leads from the house past the lily pond and to the ornate Victorian greenhouse at the rear of the garden. The terrace near the house has a green oak pergola to conceal the rear of the garage and provide a structure for climbing roses and clematis. The secret garden is concealed behind beech hedges and provides a secluded place to sit and enjoy the herbaceous borders.
